Worcester City Amateur boxer Trent Smith beat Will Galliers of Solihull ABC to win the Class 4 Midlands Junior under 60kg title.

Smith started the bout very one paced and allowed Galliers to take an early lead at the end of the first by one point. Galliers aggressive two fisted approach worked well in the early stages and it wasn't until midway through the second Smith got his act together. The counter punching approach from Smith wasn't working so he opted to stand his ground and unleash some heavy right hands. Straight lefts and rights put Galliers on the backfoot when Smith really took control going into the third.
After the Worcester corner made it absolutely clear to Smith that he needed to win big in the last round, he put the decision beyond any doubt.
Galliers tried to unsettle Smith but was met with hard rights to the head has Smith convincingly won the last by 6 clear points.
Pre-quarter finals next in Manchester for Smith, where he faces George Drinkwater of Roche ABC
